Sports Outreach Bolivia is committed to seeing a variety of different sports being used to reach out into the local community.   Basketball has been used as outreach tool since for a number of years and its use was further increased with the development of a programme for children in the Nuevo Amanacer and Sandunga neighbourhoods of Trinidad.   A mixture of basketball and Bible Studies proved a very effective tool to reach out to children and teenagers in the local community. Basketball

The main objective of the basketball work is to make contact with the children of the local neighbourhood.  Through the friendships made, opportunities arise to share the Good News that is our Lord Jesus Christ. Many children come from deprived family backgrounds and, for them, the basketball activities are a refuge from the difficulties of life.   It is our prayer that God will use each one of us who are involved in the work, to show His love to those who attend. Evangelism is done through weekly talks at training sessions.  The teaching is often reinforced through activity sheets. Discipleship work is also very important to encourage those in their faith.  A weekly Bible study group is held on a Saturday evening.
