Football is the most popular sport in Bolivia and is therefore the main area of work.   Presently being done through the Football School "START".  This is an outreach work in the "Carmen" neighbourhood of Trinidad.   We currently have 80 boys and girls attending the daily activities.  For more information see page click here.

Basketball is very popular in Bolivia.  Presently our activities are run at weekends and are open mainly for adults and teenagers.   Sports Outreach Bolivia will begin a new Basketball outreach activity in the Nuevo Amanacer neighbourhood as of February 2006.

Sports Outreach Bolivia is presently supporting the "Mary Rivera" school in the Bello Horizonte neighbourhood by providing Physical Education classes.  This is part of preparation work to expand the activities with a new football school in this part of town.

Existing links to the IDEPPSO school for the deaf exist through the Totai Foundation Health Centre ministry.   Sports Outreach Bolivia provide P.E. classes to students. To find out more, click here.

Evangelism

A core element of all activities is Evangelism.  This is done at the football pitch on a weekly basis through talks and reinforced with activity sheets.  Other evangelism tools used are videos, tracts and Bible distribution. For photos and information, click here

A vital part of the work.  There is a discipleship group that meets on a Saturday evening and all Sports Outreach Bolivia staff are involved in a weekly Bible Study on Tuesday evenings.  Sports Outreach Bolivia also aims to be a link between the church and the local community, encouraging attendance at local church groups and activities.  Click here for photos and more information.

Sports Outreach Bolivia has provided the opportunity to many young Christians to gain experience in sports ministry work and to share their faith with others.   Opportunities each year to come to Bolivia are limited due to our commitment to 1-to-1 guidance and discipleship whilst the volunteer is with us in Bolivia.   Click here to find out more of the opportunities or read of past and present volunteer experiences.

Sport Outreach Bolivia is a ministry of the Totai Foundation which is based in Trinidad of the Beni region of Bolivia.   It seeks  to reach out to the local community using sport to make contacts.   Through the friendships made, many opportunities arise to share the Good News in Jesus Christ.
